About Ryan Luke
My name is Ryan Luke and I love taking pictures. I have been shooting photos for as long as I can remember, but I only got serious about it in the past 15 years. I am self taught and I never took any photo classes. After many years of shooting on film, I finally made the switch over to digital photography. Most of my work is shot with high end Canon equipment. I recently returned from a two year trip around the world where I scored thousands of shots on my epic journey to nearly every corner of the globe. I am only showcasing some of my favorites here.
To me, photos are visual moments eternally captured in time. By capturing an image, it can transport me back to that place every time I look at it. It is almost like being there again. It can bring back so many great memories and feelings from that one moment. In that way, photos are vivid memory clips of life. That alone keeps me shooting. I am always on a quest for that "perfect photo". I don't know if the perfect photo even exists, but I like trying to capture it anyway. Photography has exposed me to many wonderful people and places around the globe. It has led me on some epic adventures. I am glad that I now get to share my favorite images of these great places.
I strive to make my photos special by paying close attention to simple details like lighting and framing of the subject. I try to visualize things at different angles and imagine how it would work out for a photo. I love working with natural light and I rarely use a flash. Night photography is my favorite.
